Anna Maria Leber, born 16th May 1877 in Hausen (Black Forest), before she contracted marriage with Carl Wilhelm Weil 12. November 1898 in Mannheim, has been employed inter alia in the service of House of Baden (= House of Zähringen), a dynasty of Swabian nobility. The couple then moved for several years of service to Basel, where 18th May 1900 their daughter Marie and 24.9.1901 their son Carl Wilhelm were born and then acquired their later family headquarters house at Emmershäuser Hütte near Rod an der Weil in Taunus Mountain Weil Valley, a region of former Hessen-Nassau Province. There their third child or second daughter Hedwig at 27th December 1903 was born.

Furniture and household items brought to their new home they received from their former contractors as material salary payment from several sides. The exact origin isn´t registered for every single object. Anna Maria Leber-Weil had been in temporary service in Baden and most probably also in London.

In her age of childness all her complete family radicated in Hausen left Germany as emigrants towards the United States of America, where they setteled inter alia in Philadelphia and Cincinatti. Her also forseen emigration together with her father didn´t take place because of the surprising death of the latter in an accident. As complete orphan she then was adopted by regional authorities and employed in Houses of several nobility dynasties, as mentioned in Karlsruhe, Baden Baden and London.

Her and her husbands together household items figure here in the museum exposition as personal objects of her, Anna Maria Leber, beeing unknown the exact distribution of goods between them. Her husband also was employed by various contractors until around 1920 as travelling businessman with registered travel destiny Switzerland but also probably England.
